Welcome to another Meet My Character Monday post! This week I’m going to be introducing you to Denby, the stable master and owner in Brough.
What is the name of your character?
Denby of the Earth fey.
When and where is the story set?
We first meet Denby in Meanmna with Sarette and Elwin and again with Mathew and Lilly in Bienn-Theine. He will be a recurring character in the series.
What should we know about him?
He owns and runs the horse stable in Brough, the northern port city on Lake Hasani.
Elwin explains Brough to Sarette, “…Brough is like Switzerland, completely neutral for the most part, but there are plenty of fey here who would sell their own mother for a price…”
Denby has stayed out of the conflict before the story begins, but since he is a witness to of a lot of underhanded-dark magic related dealings, he begins to spy for Sarette.
What is the main conflict?
You learn in Bienn-Theine that Brough is becoming overrun with dark fey, and the problems will only continue to get worse.
What is the personal goal of the character?
He wants to be an important part of the fight for light magic.
What is the title and where can we find out more?
You will read a little about him in all of the novels, but most of his story will be told in Daearen: Book Six of the Daearen Realms. So, it’ll be a little while…
