Transformation Competition Tuesday ~ Week 4

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Three weeks down for the 12-week transformation competition on my coach, Jaco De Bruyn’s website!

Yesterday was also check-in day with the Aesthetics Academy and another stellar week was had. Yea!

The last couple of weeks has been a little rough. Final edits on Eitlean: Book Three of the Daearen Realms (now available for pre-sale!) had me sitting on my butt for 12-14 hours a day. But I was still consistent with my workouts, following my plan until last weekend. Just before I submit a novel for publication, I like going through the story one last time in one sitting as much possible, just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

But I can walk away for a half hour or so and not lose my place in the story, so I would do kid stuff or workout. I split the workouts up to stick to my time constraints. They weren’t optimal, but I got them in and crushed every set, and that’s all that matters! Sometimes, you just need to do, what ya’ gotta do, to make it all work.

Workout example:

Work for an hour or two until the need to move would become overwhelming or my eyes needed a rest because the computer screen would start to go fuzzy.

Warm up: Zumba song and then 15 reps behind the neck presses with a comfortable weight.

Five Super Sets: Barbell Presses 12,10,8,6,4 reps (increasing weight each set), zero rest into Dumbbell Laterals 8 reps (I did not increase weight after the second set when I almost failed at seven, had to wait five seconds to push those last two). It takes 30-45 seconds to add/change plates, and then I always stretch the muscles I just worked for a least 30 seconds between sets, so about a minute and a half rest between sets.

3 sets – 15 reps – decline DB crunch with twist – Minute rest between sets.

Quick total body stretch and back to Eitlean.

It’s all about making it work! It would take 20ish minutes away from the book at a time. But in the end, I was able to work later and longer with complete focus! And finished in less time than the last time I went into edit mode. Total win!

Next weekend I’ll be uploading my pictures to Jaco’s website and the public will vote… Yeah, that’s not scary at all. Regardless of how the voting goes, I love the progress I’ve made over the last three weeks and am so excited to see how far I can go in the next nine weeks!

And then there’s Alex, my #fitbrother from the Aesthetics Academy, who’s doing the transformation competition with me. I think the picture says it all.

He’s kicking some serious ass!!!

Next week, I’ll let you know how week four went for Alex and me!

And I’ll show you the pictures we uploaded for the contest and the info to go vote!

Have a great Tuesday and week everyone!
